Sweet peas
Filed under: Our Produce Diary; What do you think? Leave a commentYesterday was not a good day for one reason and another. Today Helen, our wonderful cake-maker, gave me some sweet peas from her garden. My spirits were lifted…sometimes the smallest gesture means so much.

Our Produce gets a 5* rating
Filed under: Our Produce Diary; What do you think? Leave a commentNot that I was worried but…. It was great to receive a big thumbs up from the Environmental Health Inspector during a recent routine visit. In fact she was so impressed, she ended up talking to me about how Our Produce could supply the council offices!

Fantastic fundraising
Filed under: Our Produce Diary; What do you think? Leave a commentVillage life is just so great when people unite to create a great community event. On Saturday, thousands of pounds were raised at a charity farmer’s market in the small village of Hoar Cross, in support of the Holly Trust Foundation, the Abbots Bromley First Responders and the Jelly Tots playgroup. It was well worth attending for visitors and stall holders alike, and the hog roast baps were just delicious..
This weekend it’s another village event, this time at Rangemore. There’s a Fun Day starting at 1.00pm, admission is free and again there will be plenty of stall holders (including Our Produce) as well as loads of fun things for the children to do. Funds raised will go to All Saints Primary School in the village.

Just got in trouble!!
Filed under: Our Produce Diary; What do you think? Leave a commentWhilst I respect customer confidentiality to the upmost, there are some that are just asking to be named…especially when I do them favours like accepting late orders and then they have the nerve to complain I haven’t written a blog entry for ages!
They are absolutely right of course and I do apologise for being away so long, and only a week of it was holiday (while customers were all left to go hungry!). I am still alive and kicking – and not just the cat. Having a week off was most welcome and we’ve come back to delicious Staffordshire strawberries now in season an also lots of England-grown salad stuff. With the lovely weather we’ve had, it’s barbecue time for sure and there are lots of new special meat items available now from Bradshaw’s.
Happy shopping. Jennyxx

Not everybody gets it!
Filed under: Our Produce Diary; What do you think? Leave a commentComments made during conversations about Our Produce..
“But aren’t you taking business away from the supermarkets?”
“But why would I buy from Jenny, when I’ve got Tesco’s round the corner?”
I’ve still got my work cut out!
