Our Produce, supplying Staffordshire with great value local food

For some time roast pork has been off our Sunday menu – anaemic, dry, tasteless. Thanks, but we’ll stick to beef, lamb and chicken. No longer! Our Produce belly pork is a real find. A 3lb joint is perfect for 5 hungry people. I  rubbed a bit of salt into the skin, slapped it in the oven, forgot about it for a couple of hours – I literally did nothing to it - and hey presto! It’s moist, melt-in-the-mouth, magnificent-tasting and the crackling is to die for.

 I’ve just put my order in and I’ve ordered the fish curry one for this week.  Had the korma yesterday and thought it was wonderful.  It is such a brilliant concept and makes the process so much easier and without any waste.  We will keep trying them all!

Just wanted to say a big thank you for doing my order at such ridiculously late notice. I am so sorry to have been a pain, and was amazed that you managed so much of it! I really didn’t expect it.

The prawns and curry kit went together beautifully on Friday night; the lamb was delicious on Sunday with roasted veg, and today I went for a long walk (9 miles from Tutbury to Hanbury & Fauld and back to Tutbury) with my friend Clare – muscles killing me now! – and put the oxtail in first thing this morning and left it slow cooking all day. That went down a treat with him indoors.

Probably my favourite thing, though, was the Easter chocolates from Bittersweet. They were gorgeous! Real quality chocs.

 and it has eased my weekly shopping burden.  The seasonal produce is really good and we have enjoyed trying different varieties of vegetables which you can’t get in the supermarkets.

Hi Jenny,

Just a quick one to say that I didn’t do an order this week because we are away for a few days, but I wanted to tell you that the Christmas stuff was lovely! Turkey fantastic, mince pies and choc log really yummy, and all went down really well. The rest of my family wanted to know all about you and were really jealous that we have such a fab service round here. Unfortunately, unless you are thinking of expanding to Bromley (Kent, not Abbots!), I can’t entice them on board.
